2010 update

So many dresses and rapidly running out of hanging space ... radical re-think on shop layout needed (don't want these lovely dresses to be squished). Models

If you are over 5 foot seven, above a size 10/12, and fancy wearing a few gorgeous wedding dresses (just for fun !) at Wedding Fayre Fashion Shows in 2010 then please get in touch ! The fashion shows are always on Sundays at various locations in and around Dundee (hair and makeup done, and professional photographs taken when possible too).

Holy Communion Gowns

Lovely First Communion gowns just arrived in the shop (and lots of gloves, veils, bags etc) - from Emmerling and Frazer James of Knightsbridge - hope the little girls love them ! Most are sparkly, a couple understated - wonder which will be most popular.

No excuse for not posting any news, other than I've been really busy - sorry.

The Bride's Pronovias 2010 Collection is nearly all here - and they really are stunning - check out the Pronovias website http://www.pronovias.com/ for all these fab new styles (deep breath) Medina, Medieval, Malena, Menta, Micenas, Mistico (new in today and absolutely spectacular!), Monaco, Moka, Galon, Galia, Galante, Huesca, Montecarlo, Gemma (still to arrive), Ginesta !

Amanda Wyatt's new collection is also arriving, now have the stunning Geneva (in a to die for Hazelnut colour), and one of my personal fave's Gracie

Of Charlotte Balbier's 2010 Boutique Collection I now have Lacey and Betsey (to add to Havana and Astrid) - what more could a girl ask !

I haven't even started on Sincerity and Alfred Angelo - I really do believe that this will be the best collection ever for The Bride in Broughty Ferry !

I am back and the shop is open ! Sorry not been posting since Tuesday, its been far too busy with lots of lovely brides and loads of 2010 Collection deliveries ..... arrived today.... Astrid and Lacey by Charlotte Balbier. From Pronovias - Menta, Galia, Huesca and lots of lovely magazines to give out to Pronovias brides for their Wedding Memories box. Will blog properly when get a minute - including pics hopefully !

Pronovias 2010

Gowns arrived in the shop today - yippee they are fab

Menorca - a lovely neckline, and beautiful spanish lace - what more could you ask for ?

Montecarlo - lace straps, structured satin bodice down to a full satin skirt with quirky lace panel.

Just received a new accessories order from JuneEllen, and this is one of the handmade floral fascinators I bought - its so fab. Its huge, it measures nearly 9 inches across. A definate statement piece for Bride or MOB.

A busy Sunday over - good week ahead !

Had a great day at Landmark yesterday - Emma & Sandra doing hair & makeup from 9am, eventually home at 5pm, feeling tired but happy. What a long and productive day. Thanks to Hollie @ Landmark for organising everything so beautifully for us and big hugs for our fab models - couldn't do it without them. Very proud of my "quiet & shy" little Alexandra (aged 8) who worked that Catwalk like a pro and enjoyed every second.

Busy week, evenings, Saturday and Sunday all booked up before I head off with the family to Tenerife for our first proper holiday together in nearly 3 years - I think I might enjoy it !

What a busy busy week - lots of appointments with lovely new brides, and also lots of kids activities getting in the way of any interesting blogging ! Must do better next week.

Have some fab new hair accessories from Charlotte Balbier, and JuneEllen on their way to me to grace the Catwalk @ Landmark Dundee on Sunday 27th at 12.30 and 2 !

Dresses all chosen, soundtrack edited .... wish it would come sooner ... am very excited.

British Bridal Exhibition Harrogate

Just back from a flying visit to Harrogate - what a FAB couple of days (despite the horrendous journeys there and back!).

The highlights

Charlotte Balbier's stylish, and very fashion oriented 2010 collection (too many to choose from but pretty sure I've bought what my customers will love!) I think my favourite is Astrid, gorgeous lace, simple shape and delicate little straps, or maybe one of the fuller Taffeta gowns ... or maybe..... oh I can't decide !
Amanda Wyatt's collection which was just fab, lots of beautiful and interesting detail, great shapes and very very wearable for all shapes sizes and ages. My favourite is either Geneva (in the most beautiful Hazelnut colour) or one shouldered Gracie !
Alfred Angelo are one of my newest collections in the shop and to make sure that all my brides have the greatest possible choice, I've become a Premier Stockist. Lots of different dresses, from short and sweet, to opulent and glamorous. Also loving the really pretty short chiffon bridesmaids dresses, and the long slinky elegant ones (I hope one of them fits me!) 2 new colours to look out for Shamrock (vibrant green) and a WOW violet.
Sincerity Bridal - they always blow me away, their dresses are stunning and just unbelievably competitively priced.Their fashion show was the best I saw - the girls danced their way along the catwalk to some really fab music just great fun.

Delivery as early as October for some, and as late as February for others .... keep an eye out .. will post all deliveries as soon as I receive them!

Friday 11th September

Quiet day today sorting everything out for another MAD Saturday !

Had a great trying on session with Vicki, now I've just got to whittle the number of dresses she's wearing - she suits them all !

Lovely little flowergirl dress arrived this morning, just the right size for my gorgeous 9year old daughter to wear at the Landmark Fashion Show on 27th Sept ! Just like this picture, but I have it with a Victorian Lilac bodice (bodice available in 52 different colours - wow). Will put up a pic of the real thing once its steamed.

Off to phone tomorrow's girls to make sure they can all still come in .... got a big waiting list !

Thursday 10th September

What a busy morning and its not even 11am ! Wedding cards to make, write & send to my gorgeous brides, and a bit of cleaning to do (how unglamorous) before my next appointment due in. Also have to finalise plans for appointments at Harrogate so I make the very best use of my time for my lovely future brides to be.

Wednesday 9th September

A gorgeous day in Broughty Ferry, busy morning with a customer (and a lovely one at that), just about to have lunch, then another two lovely 2011 brides popping in at 2pm. One of my fab & very reliable models Vicki, is coming in later to choose which dresses she is going to wear at the Bridal Fashion Show on the 27th at the Landmark (was the Swallow!). Emma Kettles will as always be doing some great hairstyles on the day and this time we are having a diary of the fashion show day photographed by a great young photographer Kirsty Legg.

Atelier Diagonal

One of my gorgeous new Atelier Diagonal gowns is now pride of place in my window - here are a couple of photos ! Lots of pleated natural taffeta, gorgeous shape & a very stylish bow. Can you believe it retails at only £600 - what a fab price and a fab frock !

New 2010 gowns have arrived from White One & Atelier Diagonal - all the style of Pronovias but a smaller price tag ! Will take some pictures and post them once I can get the technology to work (definately cannot be me causing the problem!)

This weeks plans

Now that the Sale day is over, lots more work to do and exciting things to plan for my lovely brides !
I am off to buy most of my 2010 stock in Harrogate this weekend - I am very excited (other than the prospect of a 5hour drive there and back!). Seeing Alfred Angelo, Amanda Wyatt and Charlotte Balbier on Sunday, and Sincerity Bridal on Monday. In amongst all that I must visit Emmerling to buy accessories & Communion wear, and Alexia to see even more bridesmaids dress ideas. Wonder if I'll take on any new suppliers this year - sometimes you find things which are too difficult to resist !
